Lord, I Thank You

Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your shed blood and that You are my High Priest standing before the Father interceding for me daily. You suffered outside the city gate in order to make me holy through Your own shed blood, bearing my sins and disgrace. I give you the sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving.

I pray, my Shepherd that You would equip me with everything good for doing Your will, and may You work in me what is pleasing to Yourself through Your only Son Jesus. Not to me, O Lord, not to me, but may Your name be the glorified because of Your love and faithfulness, You, O Lord are my help and shield. Praise the Lord!

Father, I consider it a privilege whenever I face trials of many kinds, because I know that the testing of my faith develops perseverance. You are maturing and completing Your work in me so I may imitate You. Father, I pray for wisdom, guidance and direction, Your Word, says in James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” Thank You, Father for wisdom.

Father, this is the month that we observe Thanksgiving; giving You all the glory for the abundance of blessings.

Like the psalmist in Psalms 116, I too can proclaim, “O Lord, You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before You in the land of the living.” I have come a long way, Father; from that day I tried to commit suicide -You took me by the hand and lifted me out of the pit and put me on solid ground. I thank You. You have opened Your Word and taught me Your principals and applied Your saving blood to my sins, which are forgiven, today, yesterday and forever. I thank You.

Then the psalmist said, “I am greatly afflicted, and in my dismay I said, “All men are liars.” How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me?” Yes, Lord, I too can ask that question and the only way I can repay You is to be obedient to Your Word and to Your calling on my life. Lord Jesus, I surrender all to You, my spirit, soul and body. I surrender my independence, my self will, my life –everything, Jesus. I pierce my ear to the doorpost of Your heart – I am willing to be Your bondservant, to be used of You as You will.

You said, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Ps 116:15). Lord Jesus, I want to die to self and be raised up in You. I must decrease and You must increase. I truly want to be Your servant and I pray to be completely set free from my chains to serve You. I give You a thanks offering and call on Your name. May I fulfill my vows to You O God in the presence of Your people, in the courts of Your sanctuary, in the midst of Your congregation. Praise Your holy name, for great is Your love towards me and Your faithfulness endures forever.

Even when I struggle with doubts and confusion, when Your truths and their experiences don’t seem to  match, and life doesn’t seem to make sense, You are still in control and I pour out my heart to You, God, I am angry! I don’t understand what is happening or why! Praise Your holy name; You never grew angry at me for honestly expressing my confusion, frustration and anger. Thank You...You accepted my hurt, pain, and everything else that overflows from my suffering heart. I thank You that I can come to You and talk to You as I would my earthly father. You handle my angry accusations, my anger and indignation-I thank You.

I thank You for allowing me to pour out my heart to You. You may reprove me, but You never tell me not to talk to You that way. You enable me to reach the point to acknowledge that the working of Your goodness and sovereignty is a mystery to us mortals and by pouring out my hurt to You frees me-Your word in Isaiah 43:26 says, “Put me in remembrance, let us argue our case together, state your cause that you may be proved right.” (NASB)

Again in Psalm 145:18, You tell me, You are near to all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth. I thank You.

Life is not fair! Thank You Father, that You encourage me to deal with life’s unfairness. Thank You, that Your Spirit gives me the courage to honestly examine where I’m at, where I’ve been, and where You want me to be. Thank You.

I thank You,  that I can step into Your presence, Your sanctuary and stand in the light of truth and regain an eternal perspective on my problems. Thank You. I can say my feet almost slipped, but, my thoughts turned to You and I entered into Your sanctuary and it’s then I remember the destiny of the wicked and I repent.  Thank You-

I thank You I can enter into Your sanctuary to worship and reflect in the light of Your truth; It is then my point of view shifts from a temporal to an eternal view of life. I thank You. While I’m in Your sanctuary my thinking begins to be influenced by Your truths and that’s when You reveal to me that things will work out in the end. I reflect on Your character and nature and You then move me by Your righteousness and the promise of eventual justice and judgment against the wicked. That helps-Thank You.

Even when my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, senseless and arrogant and I was a brute beast before You -You never left me nor forsook me. I thank You. I thank You, that I can always find You, even in the midst of injustice, regardless of whatever circumstance I may be going through -I thank You.

I thank You that You have given me insight on how You can use what looks like a raw deal when it is happening, to bring about good results in the long run. You have a plan for my life and You are working it out Your way not mine. I thank You.

I must never loose sight of Your ultimate purpose to bring good out of bad and when Your time is right all things work out for good to those who love You. Thank You.

I thank You that You used the raw deal given to me at work to build my character, to change my life, to give me a testimony and to fulfill a greater purpose. All You ask of me is to have faith to endure events that don’t make sense in the present but to shift my focus off the circumstance and back onto the big picture- I will trust in You to get me through these hard times. I will trust that You will turn my situation around to bring about good. I have the victory through You, Lord Jesus. Thank You.

Father, I have survived these past years only because of Your presence in my life. You have blessed me with a loving husband, one who loves me as Christ loves the Church. You have blessed me with a loving and caring family-children and grandchildren. You have blessed me with a loving pastor-loving Church family and many friends. I thank You, but most of all Father, You have blessed me with my salvation and the shed blood of Your only Son, Jesus Christ who died for me, even knowing where I would go, where I would take Him-He still willingly died for me. That is LOVE!  -Thank You-Thank You.

I feel that thank You is not enough for such a wonderful loving Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I have not the words to express that gratitude, the love-and thanksgiving in my heart for You. I relish the overwhelming feeling of waking up this morning and feeling the love that flooded my heart for You and knowing that You loved me too. Thank You from the bottom of my heart, soul and body. I love You, Father,

Your daughter, Susie.
