A Yearning For God

Father, You have called me to live in a perfect relationship with You, so that my life will produce a yearning for God in the lives of others, not admiration for myself. O Lord Jesus Your purpose in my life is not to make me a trophy in Your showcase, but You are trying to get me to a place where You can use me. Do so with me, as You want, O My Father.  Make me one with Yourself, my Father, as You are One with Your Son. "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfect..."(Philippians 3:12).

Your Word says, "When ever Your will is in complete control, You will remove all pressure and if we deliberately choose to obey You, You will reach to the remotest star and to the ends of the earth to assist me with Your Almighty Power!" So be it Lord! There is only one relationship that really matters, and that is my personal relationship to my personal Redeemer and Lord. I will maintain that at all cost, letting everything else go. You will fulfill Your purpose through my life. O My Father, I want to be that life! "By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain..."(1 Corinthians 15:10).

"You open Your hand and satisfy every living thing with favor" (Ps 145:16). What a picture Lord! Your hand is opened toward everything that has life, with only one intent, to satisfy our deepest desires. Our satisfaction— fulfillment, gratification, and contentment— is Your idea.

Satisfy my desires O Lord for a closer relationship with Thee. I seek Your face, O God; I seek the Reviver, the Healer, and my Redeemer. You said, in Your Word, "It is good". You were talking about Your creations-Your desire for me is my satisfaction and it is then I begin the wonderful journey out of spiritual darkness into marvelous light, out of personal misery into divine contentment.  Help me, O God to accept this truth, and acknowledge my need of You and to cultivate an obedient relationship with You. My Father, my hearts desire is just that. If I do not pursue a vital personal relationship with You, I will live out my life hopelessly bound to the syndrome of discontent. I've found that life becomes a terrible and wonderful adventure as I yield wholeheartedly to Your plan, which You so faithfully revealed to me. It is terrible in the absolute abandonment of self that is required-my plans and desires- and my relationships. And it is wonderful in the overwhelming sense of purpose, destiny, and fulfillment that only abandonment to You brings to my life. You enlarge my heart in the capacity to love others and the rewards of service to my King eclipse the noblest plans that self, without You could produce. Hallelujah! I can expect to receive a greater revelation of Your purpose for my life as I yield more completely to You.

Father, David wrote, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty." Father, I want to live in absolute unbroken fellowship with You, like Jesus. He never acted in self-will but did only those things You directed Him to do. I too, My Father, want to live my life on earth in utter and complete dependence on You. You, O God, are my refuge and my fortress and in You will I trust.

You promise to deliver me from hidden dangers; from immunity from fatal diseases. You promised to be my shelter and refuge that is likened to that of a mother bird with her young. Father You promised me protection in the faithfulness of You. You promised me freedom from fear and safety in the midst of a storm. You are my insurance against calamity. You promised that Your angelic escorts would guard me. You've promised me victory over the lions and the cobra. Hallelujah! Your Word says the one who trusts in Jehovah is immortal until his/her work is done. Thank You Father, for keeping me safe through the power of faith. Father, I claim these promises and I will rely on them, for those who trust in the Lord is sure of His protection. Hallelujah!

I give You praise and glory, In Jesus name I pray. Amen
