I Thirst For The Living God

Abba Father, I come before You a sinner saved by the grace and the shed blood of Jesus Christ, thanking you for forgiving me of pride of ancestry, pride of orthodoxy; pride of activity and pride of morality. I confess self-love; self- pride, and self-ambition and I ask to be delivered from all self-righteousness of pride. Lord keep my eyes open to the risen Savior, not self. These are all worthless when compared to the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord. I thank You for the garment of righteousness You provide for me, Lord Jesus by Your blood. I thank You I can come to Your throne room without fear of death but through Your righteousness I can enter into Your presence. Hallelujah! I give You praise and glory! "He (God) made Him (Christ) who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Father I have an inner longing for fellowship with You that can be compared to the vehement craving of the deer as it wanders through the parched countryside, its sides throbbing and its breathing quickened as it longs for the brook. My thirst is for You alone, no one else will do; I thirst for the living God--not for a dead idol. The desire O God can only be fully satisfied by a personal appearing before the Lord and the privilege of gazing upon Your face.  O Let Your glory come down. Lord I just want to be in Your presence. I am thirsty and hungry for Your glory and power.

Lord I need Your presence, whatever it takes, wherever it comes from, I must have You. Do not pass me by. "…. I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple…" (Ezek. 47:1) O let Your glory fall upon me, O God!

Father, I desire the power of Christ resurrection, which Your word says is available to all believers in Ephesians 1:19. It is my ambition to experience this power in my life and testimony. I want to live the crucified life, to die practically to sin, self and the world. I am willing to abide in You, Lord so I can bear fruit.

My supreme desire is the knowledge of Your glory--I have an intense longing to reach You in the place where You are. Continue Your work in me Lord, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, namely: the privilege and responsibilities of living the Christian life, whether worship, service, or the personal development of my Christian character.  I want to achieve the goal for the prize of the upward call of You in my Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord reveal Your truths to me, for I am willing to follow them. While I wait for You to reveal the full implication of the cross to me, I will obey whatever degree of truth I have already received. Father do for me what Your Son did for Paul, let me become a pattern to all future believers.
